Game 10: Toronto Maple Leafs @ Washington Capitals

The PK was good (they were 3 for 3) but they only won 40% of the faceoffs and the Maple Leafs had 22 blocks.

Backstrom was 31% on faceoffs and Beagle was 17%.  But on the other hand, David Steckel won 57% (oh wait, he plays for Toronto now, doesn't he?)

Here was my reaction to seeing the game:

Caps fall to the Leafs 3 - 2.

Chris Kunitz gets a hat trick and Sidney Crosby gets three assists.

This pretty much summed up the day:

Capitals fall to the Penguins 6 - 3 Though this was a nice goal by John Carlson

Game 8: Philadelphia Flyers @ Washington Capitals

Inspite of the fact that Mike Ribero went 5 - 17 on the faceoffs, the Capitals still won 3 - 2.

Oh, this is Holtby's first NHL win since his son was born last tear.

Game 7 Washington Capitals @ Toronto Maple Leafs

When you are outshot almost to a 2 - 1 ratio, it does not look good.

And for those wondering, I seriously doubt we can get Bruce Boudreau back.

Caps fall to the Leafs 3 - 2.

Game 6 Washington Capitals @ Ottawa Senators

First, a letter:

Dear Washington Capitals,

Please keep the puck on the other side of the ice.

Love,
The Caps Goalies

Anyways, Caps blow a 2 - 0 lead to fall to the Ottawa Senators 3 - 2.

The Caps are now 1 - 4 - 1.   At least they are doing better than the Columbus Blue Jackets New York Islanders  Florida Panthers

Game 5 Buffalo Sabres @ Washington Capitals

Anytime John Erskine scores, you have to win.  You can not waste gold like that.  (I even bought the Erskine shirt at the gift shop after the game.)

Yes, John Erskine scored on Ryan Miller.  The hockey gods are nuts.

Caps won 3 - 2.  Oh and they even got a powerplay goal!

BTW, Fehr and Hendicks, please do not skate into each other.

Game 4: Washington Capitals @ New Jersey Devils

Nope.  They lost 3 - 2 in OT.

The Devils did give the Caps many chances with 5 power plays in the 3rd (well ok, an extended 5 - 3 was part of that).  I sort of think we should have called the Caps the Generals and start playing Sweet Georgia Brown when the Devils had the puck.

Scary stat, at one point, Wizards guard Bradley Beal had more blocks (3 at that point in the 1st quarter) than Caps goalie Michael Neuvirth had stops (2 stops on 3 shot attempts).
